Flogs amongst the blogs

To mi amis and others,

I was shocked to realize that my last blog/flog entry on this site was May 9, 2011… two weeks ago. That is totally unacceptable for the self-imposed high standards I set for myself. Ergo, I will begin to post the more traditional (read only) blogs more frequently… interspersed with flogs, which are specifically ideal for the reading challenged, but designed for everyone. In the future you can expect to see a new entry, be it flog or blog, at no less frequency than once a week, and more frequently when current events warrant.

It was my initial desire to post nothing but flogs, along with a script for those wishing to dissect the entry by poring over every word. However, producing a flog is extremely time and effort intensive, and coming up with a quality product, unfortunately, cannot be turned out like an order of burgers and fries at a fast-food joint. It was my dream to have a flog posted yesterday or today at the latest. It is my wish to have it posted by Wednesday or Thursday. But the reality is that my next flog will probably be posted by this coming weekend.

Why the delay? Because I want the flog to be not only full of info and words of wisdom, but I want its presentation to be stimulating, interesting, and fun. To reach those lofty goals, I plan to add interactivity in the way of buttons to allow viewers to take detours on their journey through the flog. I also plan to add more sound effects and background music to make the experience more enjoyable.

This site will set the standard for flogs, although I doubt that many other flogs will spring up anytime soon. The main reason is because of the time and effort required. It’s like producing a mini-documentary with interactivity, to boot. It requires editing, synchronization of audio, animation, and other capabilities and talents which many bloggers lack… not to mention an understanding of Flash. So, the only place that you are likely to see a flog is on this blog site.

Durham-in-Wonderland, Liestoppers (an oxymoron), and other blog sites do an admirable job, but face it… they tend to be a bit boring, and definitely lack the entertainment value of one of my flogs. The way I see it, they are best off sticking with the read-only format of the traditional blog. They should leave trailblazing and innovation to me. As Dirty Harry Callahan said in “Magnum Force,” “A man’s got to know his limitations.” I am not bragging when I say this, as boasting is not in my DNA… I am merely making statements of fact.

Upcoming flogs will focus on a myriad of criminal and social justice topics and cases, including those about Erick Daniels, James Arthur Johnson, my lawsuit against Duke University, and others. I will try to post a flog at least once every other week… which may be a bit optimistic. Flogs will be easily discernible from blogs because I will post an image and a link at the beginning of the entry, with the flog script to follow. Traditional read-only blogs will appear in a format as is this one you currently are reading.

I have put to electronic paper my plans and ambitions for this blog site. I would like to thank my viewers and commenters for choosing to follow it. Permit me now to make a request of you. What I ask is that you take that next step… challenge yourself, and try to make a positive difference in the world. If you are merely reading or viewing the blogs and flogs, take the next step and send in a comment on topics of interest to you. Share your ideas, thoughts, and feelings with everyone. For those who are regular, or irregular, commenters to this site, step outside the box’s comfort zone and send a letter to your political representatives, the governor, or anyone in a position of power… or not. You cannot make a difference if you're on the sidelines. Contributions can be made only when you’re on the playing field… unless you’re the water boy.

As always, I appreciate and welcome any suggestions, thoughts, or comments you may have regarding the blogs, flogs, and their content.

good lord, sid's head finally exploded! Wow, sid, I am sure KC (Durham In Wonderland) is just soooooooooooo jealous of your brillance. Who needs off shore drilling, folks? We have the greatest source of untapped natural gas on the eastern seaboard right here amongst us. Keep it up, sid. you get funnier by the day. Don't forget to take your meds....

Sidney, posting the truth is certainly not part of your DNA.

Let's see here, Sid.....how many national awards from independent highly credible news organizations has your flop, er , flog won? Hmmmm? How many international awards have you won for your teaching, writing, and scholarly efforts? How many times have your flops, er, blogs, been named as Best in Class, Blog of the Year by your favorite liberal MSNBC? Consider that Durham In Wonderland has won numerous national awards and its author is routinely quoted by academic types like your best pal, Professor Coleman, as being THE credible source for information on the lacross rape hoax. And YOU are the model for others to follow? You need help, Sid.....

Sidney, why don't you do something instead of carrying out a vendetta against innocent, falsely accused men.Why don't you try something like helping to build a habitat house?

Anonymous said...

Or, how about starting some kind of fund raising event to donate for support of Mangum's children? Or how about some kind of decent memorial for Mr. Daye? Or his family that has virtually no money? How about THAT, SID??!!

Sidney, according to news reports, DSK's DNA was found on the alleged victim's clothing.

Why was it that DNA matching any of the accused was not found on Crystal's rape kit?

To say a crime might have happened without leaving evidence is doo-doo. When you crap that out, you are trying to duck the issue. If the innocent Lacrosse players had committed the alleged crime, they would have left their DNA.

Wow, Sid -- don't hurt yourself patting yourself on the back...Flash blogs have been around for YEARS -- My personal favorite, phatterism.com, has been around since at least 2006 . If you want to see creativity, check the site out, Sid -- you'll see. Maybe Luis can offer you some pointers.

yep, what Sid lacks in brains, he certainly makes up for in bull-hockey. As we say in Texas, "big hat, no cows".....

Sid -- You need to familiarize yourself with the "diffusion of innovations" theory.

I love you
You love me
We're a happy family

And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too?

I love you

We're best friends
Like friends should be
With a great big hug

Won't you say you love me too?

How about doing a flog on the fact that no white man would want to have sex with Crystal Man-gum or would even be able to because she is so disgusting.By the way,Duke just advanced to the semi-finals by beating Notre Dame.

'Flog' is a term denoting a fake blog.

Look it up, Sid.

Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Sydney? said...

Sid and the gang assist DUMC employees in violating HIPAA:

"Also, those of us who know and care about Crystal have been able to find people who work on the unit where Mr. Daye was taken at Duke Hospital. This is, of course, little more than rumor but it appears that Mr. Daye was up and walking about and about to be discharged the Friday before he died. He went into a coma that weekend and he was dead on (it appears) Tuesday of the next week."

The above is still nothing more than unsupported allegation.

Thanks for referring me to the site. I loved it. Luis is very talented, and I would welcome any pointers he could give me about something that I don't already know.

His site, however, differs in the pure sense of it not being a blog, per se. My flogs are actually Flash blogs, rather than just animated entries. For example they contain blog content, and are posted on a regular basis. Work by Luis does not, for example fit with the blog content such as that found in my site or DurhamWonderland.

Thanks again, for the referral. I would recommend it highly.

Steven, you and Sid going steady yet? Glad to know the FOCM crowd has such fine upstanding members who enjoy passing along third and fourth hand gossip as tho it were true. Keep it up, Steven, you never know......maybe the Lacrosse Ghost flew down into Duke hospital and murdered Mr. Daye, right under the noses of his caregivers. Or, maybe it was Wahneeeeema, or Jackie W..........just doing their thang to help out Sister Survivor. You afraid to let the justice system in Durham (Nifong style) deal with Sister, are you?

Sidney + ego + ignorance = Fabulous FLOP.

Sorry to hear that as I am a big Fightin' Irish fan.

I am going to defend Sid here, a little and give a hat tip to the anonymous posters here. Sid's site, even though flawed, is now the most insightful of the blogs regarding the hoax. Sid does his best to keep the hoax alive and the posters, mostly anonymous do an even better job poking holes. Neither Sid, nor Nifong is a match for the truth. But it is important the truth be told. Sid deserves some credit for making that work.

KC is not that active unless something turns up in the civil cases. Liestoppers long ago stopped being much about the fiasco.

Hey, Walt....appreciated your backhanded fist bump for Sidney. Tongue planted firmly in cheek. Somehow the whole thing has gone from Poor Nifong to Hooray Sid. I find Sid's nonsense to be funny, not the least bit having anything to do with fact, and full of self-appreciating babble. KC has been updating regularly, though he has said that he will not post unless something happens.....no Sid-Style self back slapping. KC does not need it. His work stands on its own merits. Sidney just plays cut-n-paste with other people's work, embellishes with his own brand of race-biased opinion, and calls it enlightened wisdom.
Spare me.

Hey Sidney, have you read Steven Matherly's piece that it was only a rumor that Reginald Daye wason the verge of discharge?

Anonymous said...

[ Note -- Moved from previous blog entry ]

Sid -- On May 11, you stated "...the record is plain that Reginald Daye did not die from stab wound that he received on April 3rd. He was clearly on the mend and ready for discharge when he went into a coma."

On May 8, Stephen Matherly stated "This is, of course, little more than rumor but it appears that Mr. Daye was up and walking about and about to be discharged the Friday before he died"

Now, you state the record is plain and that Mr. Daye was "clearly" on the mend. Mr. Matherly states that this is "little more than rumor". Which of you is lying?

Anonymous said...

TRUTH is that neither of these, er, gentlemen, has ANY clue of what was happened with Mr. Daye. Because he was the victim of a crime, high profile locally, with news media everywhere, he was sequestered, managed with lockdown confidentiality. Any reference to knowing anything substantive about his condition is nothing more than idle speculation and rumor spreading. NONE of us has insider information.

There is no doubt that Steven Matherly is a moron. He proves that repeatedly on his blog.

"FLOG": A fake blog, to steal another's (work, effort), to "pan" or "sell", to torture, to whip

Perfect definition for the "I'm Sidney and I'm Super" show! Theft of other's work, faking sources and pseudo-evidence, selling opinion as fact, whipping up racism. Fits, doesn't it, Sid! No wonder you brag about your "flog".....

As you are well aware, many words have more than one definition or meaning. My use of the term "flog" is as a noun, rather than a verb. As far as a "fake blog"... what exactly is that? How does a fake blog differ from a real blog? Until I understand what a "fake blog" is, I will continue to use the term to represent a blog presented in an animated Flash format.

Thanks for the edification on the term "flog."

I will post a blog momentarily, and my next flog will be posted Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

Sidney, your blog may be real but it is rife with lies and unsupported allegations which you try to pass off as truth.

Anonymous said...

"And although logic shows that a weekend event was responsible for Daye’s loss of life, the Durham police have elected to turn a blind eye to that possibility and focus on a stab wound from which Daye had been in full recovery."

Sidney, you have offered no proof of a carpetbagger jihad. You have said only you have deduced its existence via your powers of logic and reason.

Your powers of logic and reason are non existent.
