Haven't heard from the Secretary of Department of Public Safety either... about preserving the audio.Have been having difficulty uploading the current post. Don't know what the problem is. Are you having any problem assessing it?
urban Dictionary's definition of "martyr" says it better than I can:martyrA person whose life is so empty that they live to use their self-sacrifice as a weapon against you. In their neuropathological state they believe that by doing so this places them above you, whether intellectually, socially, financially etc. A martyr always suffers from the 'Christ-Complex' a neurotic crusade (psychosis) that they feel empowers their otherwise meaningless & miserable existence.
Fake K:Yep -- We've already seen the typical tool in this martyr's arsenal, The guilt trip, used. Wonder how long before we see Sid using the atypical tools - High explosives & nails?
Sid won't do anything that will actually put him or anyone else in physical danger. And I can't think of anyone who regards him as a martyr or his cause as noble, just or even right. I see Sid as more of a Sisyphus character. His punishment for his misdeeds is to spend the rest of his life rolling the same rock uphill over and over again only to have it fall back down each and every time.In the end, everyone gets what is coming to them.Abe FromanChicago, IL
Of course Sid hasn't asked Milton for help or an affidavit. Even though it's been repeatedly explained to him that is the next step, and something that would need to be attached to a MAR to have a chance at success. This has never been about success, it's always been about looking like Sid is doing something, when he really isn't.When MARs are filed, they are required to provide actual proof, not mere allegations. Sid doesn't do that - he just files an allegation, and even though he could get get proof, he refuses to do that (just like legal research - which he admitted he doesn't do - he can't use the Law Library he wants, so he refuses to use Google). This will fail, Crystal will stay in jail, Sid will continue to whine and cry and claim it's all unfair and unjust when the real issue is that he wants special rules applied to him and Crystal, and they aren't special. He's been told how to do it right. He intentionally chooses not to.
He's been told how to do it right. He intentionally chooses not to.Sad but true.
Sidney, can you talk to Mangum and tell her to go back to the prison legal system organization that bailed on her previously? Have her explain the Milton call and see if they will help her proceed.
I support the Duke Lacrosse team.
