Crystal Mangum and Sidney Harr v. North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission

HEY, EVERYBODY... LISTEN UP!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

As you know, both detractors and well-wishers have criticized me for not getting an attorney for Crystal Mangum. The lawsuit just filed should make it clear that such a premise is extremely opposite of reality. Ever since Ms. Mangum was abandoned by the NC Prisoner Legal Services on January 17, 2017, I have been trying to retain an attorney... beginning with the NC Innocence Inquiry Commission.

The most likely reason attorneys in the private sector are afraid of representing Ms. Mangum has to do with governmental retaliation. As one attorney explained, "Crystal Mangum is kryptonite."

Even with the filing of the lawsuit, I am still looking for an attorney to represent Crystal Mangum. Can anyone provide me with the name of can attorney in the Raleigh-area with the integrity and courage to represent her?

IIRC, the NC IIC made the determination that CGM wasn’t “factually innocent” due to her stabbing (or “poking” Daye, if you prefer) not being in self-defense. Your arguments otherwise, the stabbing was not self defense, it was done as Daye was leaving, and the wound placement and other defensive wounds proved this.

So, yet another foolish civil lolsuit you’ll lose. CGM stays in prison until Feb 2026, and with 4 months left, you’ve done nothing to help her transition back into society despite being told about resources available to her.

Apparently, Sid isn't approving comments anymore. I know for a fact there were several on the previous blog that were never approved, and I posted one here yesterday that still hasn't made it.

I guess Sid's afraid somebody might actually read his Substack piece and come here looking for some background...And they'll see how many times he's been corrected and ignored that correction.
