HBO struggles with its Duke LAXer movie

As you may be aware, we are approaching what is the third anniversary marking the HBO purchase of rights to make a Duke Lacrosse movie. It has had its ups and downs, mostly downs, due to it's impossible attempt to try and make the product it wants to make conform with history and fact. Other stumbling blocks include trying to make the Duke Lacrosse team members look decent when much of their time off field and out of the classroom is invested in its raucous party activities.

The following link presents an exclusive look into the making of the movie... a painful process which should be aborted immediately. As I suggested to Len Amato, President of HBO Movies, it should produce a compelling movie with substance... one that is worth watching. Such a movie would be about the life of Gregory F. Taylor. Not only that, but the movie would come with facts and a history that would not require alteration to make interesting and inspirational.

"I haven't answered any questions.
I'm simply correcting your inaccuracies."

You can say that again, "professor accuracy." At best you produce nothing but criticism and do not engage the people you criticize in discussion of the real issues of the case....

At worst you're just a troll with good diction and penmanship.

You're right. It's examiner, not expert.

But the process at Duke is that a physician conducts the actual physical exam. That exam takes about 20 minutes.

Most SANEs are there for the emotional and psychological needs of the victim. They are the ones who examine the victim's emotional state and conduct extensive interviews and take down the victim's story.

"SANE stands for Sexual Assault Nurse Expert, not examiner."

Only here on the J4N blog....You and Sidney remind of Humpty Dumpty:
""When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less." "

"Why would I give you control of that information?"

Prove you have any such information.

Prove KC Johnson knows it.

Someone once accused Professor Johnson had knowledge of certain details of David Evans' arrest. When challenged to reveal what that information was, that individual declared he had proven his case and then disappeared.

I suspect you have no information for me or anyone. I believe that is the reason you refuse to share it.

You must be Kilgo, who claimed to have extensive, exclusive knowledge of the guilt of the Lacrosse players. When challenged to share that information, he spewed out a lot of vicious ad hominem attacks and then disappeared.

Here's more:

From the Sparrow Health System web site:
"The goal of the sexual assault nurse EXAMINER(emphasis added) program is to provide free coordinated, timely, comprehensive and compassionate care to pediatric and adult victims of sexual assault.

From www.stopvaw.org/Sexual_Assault_Nurse_EXAMINERS(emphasis added)_SANE.html
"In the United States, nurses who are trained in the proper collection of medical evidence and on issues concerning sexual assault are called Sexual Assault Nurse EXAMINERS(emphasis added) (SANE)."

From the DC Office of Women's Services:
"

The District of Columbia has developed the Sexual Assault Nurse EXAMINER(emphasis added) (SANE) Program to provide comprehensive care to adult victims of rape, sexual assault, and other sex crimes. The DC SANE program is a partnership between the Executive Office of Mayor, Office of Victim Services and Washington Hospital Center where medical forensic exams are conducted. The program is staffed 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week by nurses with specialized training in medical forensic evidence collection. Exams are available to victims within 96 hours of an incident.

"The first Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) programs began in the late 1970s. SANEs are specially trained forensic nurses who provide rape victims with medical care and collect and document forensic evidence."(from http://www.allacademic.com/meta/p_mla_apa_research_citation/2/0/0/5/9/p200592_index.html)

To collect forensic evidence, a SANE has to examine a patient for such evidence.

"Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) are specially trained and certified professionals skilled in performing quality forensic medical-legal EXAMS(emphasis added). Should a case go to trial, the SANEs are then available to testify"( from http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=eohhs2terminal&L=5&L0=Home&L1=Provider&L2=Certification%2c+Licensure%2c+and+Registration&L3=Occupational+and+Professional&L4=Sexual+Assault+Nurse+Examiner+%28SANE%29&sid=Eeohhs2&b=terminalcontent&f=dph_com_health_violence_sane_p_overview&csid=Eeohhs2)
