Serious question -- You brought up the "myriad" ( I think that's the word you used) charges brought up against Crystal Mangum for the 2010 Milton Walker incident.
Who in Durham County at that time was responsible for this list of charges?
Tracey Cline was DA at the time. As is usual in North Carolina the charges especially against minority defendants were extremely excessive. Such an incident in Canada would of been dealt with the next morning in a Magistrates Court with an no-contact order and an order for for restitution. Excessive charges, impossible bail and months before her court case is how the vindictive retaliation worked and keep the prison industrial complex going.

Hey, Anony.
kenhyeral's response, I believe is spot on accurate. However, specifically, I am of the belief that the arresting Durham Police officers were the ones who initially made the original list of charges... more excessive than usual because the suspect was Crystal Mangum, Duke Lacrosse accuser.
HEY, EVERYBODY... LISTEN UP!! IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Sharlogs have a distinct advantage over videos in that they are interactive and at instances can be paused to allow review of documents, exhibits, or extended time to scrutinize what the image presented. Their primary disadvantage is that they cannot be placed on YouTube.
Ergo, the value of videos is that they can be placed on YouTube and thereby receive exposure to a much larger audience. Therefore, I will rework a few past sharlogs to format them into videos so they can be placed on YouTube.
Before doing that, however, I will produce a sharlog about Officer Bond's response to the Mangum malicious prosecution complaint as well as Mangum's response to Bond's response.
Kenhyderal -- So it's your belief that the excessive charges, impossible bail and months before her court case was due to the way her case was handled by the DA's office as it was run under then DA Tracey Cline?
I think it's been shown that excessive charges were a tool used by the Durham DA's office under Cline to force the excused into plea deals -- effectively clearing the books for the DA's office, while piling up a high conviction rate. Thoughts? Where do you think DA Cline acquired this habit?
It was and is the prevailing culture. Justice in the U.S.A. is rotten to the core and desperately, as all concur, is in need of serious reform. The victims for the most part are the marginalized but this corruption hurts every American. Get on with it. Don't once again, as with slavery, segregation, universal public health care, sensible gun control etc. etc, be the last developed country to do the right thing.

gui, mon ami,
I don't like to classify on the basis of good or bad in this situation. There are many good people who lack Nifongian courage to do the right thing. Especially after how the media and state went after Nifong for his handling of the Duke Lacrosse case, what happened to him has served as a warning to other individuals... especially Durham prosecutors.
A large majority of the time when Mangum was initially charged, Tracey Cline was battling with Judge Orlando Hudson... and because of her attention directed at the Senior Resident Judge I decided not to contact her about Mangum's case. My thought was that she was too preoccupied with Hudson. In retrospect, I regret not at least bringing Mangum's case to her attention. It's possible she might have dropped the charges against Mangum and the trial might not even have taken place.
Don't get your unmentionables in a wad, Sid -- I was just trying to point out that you could have chosen a better name than "shv01banner"...Which does look like shorthand for "shove 1 banner".

Hey, Anony.
You are reading too much into the title. In deciding to reach a bigger audience with videos on YouTube, I used a free amp converter for the first time, and it loaded the file name as the title of the video. The file name can be interpreted as follows: "sh" is for sharlog, "v" is video; "01" means that it is the first in a series; and "banner" indicates that there will be a banner on top to contain the watermark of the free converting service... the banner being added so the watermark would not impede on the image field.
Dimensions of the video will change proportionally to optimize the image field used by YouTube, so instead of 900 pixels wide by 600 pixels high, future videos will be 1218 pixels wide by 685 pixels high, with the extra 85 pixels being used to contain the banner.
But next I will work on uploading the Bond Motion to Dismiss and Mangum's Reply and Motion for Summary Judgment. Should be posted in the next day or two.
I'm a senior citizen who believes that the state of North Carolina has harshly, excessively, and unjustly treated former Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong.

Regarding my comment above:
To quote former Texas Governor Rick Perry, "Oopsie." I meant "free app converter" instead of "amp." My bad.
