HEY, EVERYBODY... LISTEN UP!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

As you may have guessed, this blog post, which is a link to the "Women & Crime Podcast" of an interview with Crystal Mangum and a discussion of her case by two criminologists, both associate professors of criminology, is the second secret project. Dr.s Meghan Sacks and Amy Shlosberg are well accomplished criminologists whose dissections and discussions of crimes that feature women as victims, perpetrators, and investigators in their podcasts provide much enlightenment and entertainment.

The end of July 2020 I first came upon their site while googling Crystal Mangum's name... Episode 15 which was posted in June 2020 was quite captivating. I enjoyed their objective and humane treatment of Mangum in that episode and I reached out to them by e-mail. Within five days I received a reply from Dr. Sacks and I proposed a story about Mangum that included the exonerative report of Dr. Cyril H. Wecht. In the ensuing months Dr. Sacks investigated Mangum's case, reviewed pertinent documents, and interviewed Ms. Mangum in producing the final result... which I believe to be excellent.

Please note that this podcast is the first and only project brought forth by any media about Crystal Mangum and the October 25, 2019 exonerative Dr. Wecht report. They represent journalistic ideals and exemplify courage by taking on a story that even the Washington Post has turned down. Crystal, myself, and Lady Justice are indebted to them for their work in rectifying an horrendous and malicious wrong.

I strongly recommend their podcast, having listened to more than half of them myself. I will plan on placing a link on to their website with each new post.

As you were.

Abe Froman in the last thread, said: "kenny is the Tommy Flanagan of Joe Isuzus"..... Abe, you would have just as hard a time as Guiowen did showing I have lied anytime on this blog in the last decade. Both of you are lucky, though, neither of you have ever been called liar, racist or Nazi here, all easily shown and all without justification, as I have. Sarcastic Guiowen has never jumped to my defense on any of those slanders

Hey, gui, mon ami.

As you now know, the promised something is the podcast. It is the first and only media response to Dr. Wecht's exonerative report on Mangum's case. Would like to hear your opinion on it.

Sid,

Now that you are about to reveal the second of your secret projects, do you think it is time for Kenny to share with us the details of his secret plans?

I have lost track of how long it’s been since Kenny first mentioned his secret plans. However, this much is clear—between Kenny’s stories about his internet friend Kilgo and his references to his secret plans, he has no credibility.

Maybe you can convince him to be honest and candid, but I doubt it.

Hey, A Durham Man.

I am unaware of any secret plan of kenhyderal.

Let us know what you think of the podcast.

Yes, I am familiar with the rule... and personally, I believe it should be the other way around.

Unfortunately for you, the judge will decide according to what the Rule says, not what you personally think it should say.

November 1, 2020 at 3:20 PM

Hey, Dr. Caligari.

The point I was trying to make about Judge Collins' failure to state that his ruling was made "with prejudice" and instead remaining silent on it, is that he did not state "with prejudice" in his ruling because he knew that it was baseless and not based on merit. Especially in light of the brevity of his Order, he should have used "with prejudice" if it was his belief that his ruling was based on merit. He knew that his ruling was base on a desired outcome rather than merits of the case.

Sid....Er, Crystal Mangum is appealing the Oct 5 order and judgment signed by Judge Eagles.

When do we get to see that appeal?

November 2, 2020 at 4:17 PM

Hey, Anony.

As you may know, the appellate process is extremely lengthy and complex. To date, the only thing that Crystal filed is a single-paged Notice of Appeal with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.

Re: Guiowen 10:19AM 11-1-20 Guiowen is nothing but a broken record who never has an original though. For those who do not go back seven years, when I accidentally misspoke by denying I had said something regarding Canadian troops in Afghanistan and he was able to find in a different thread and a different context where I did use the said words he has, by intimation, been labeling me as a liar. For over a decade him and I have been exchanging on this blog and he never wins argument with me. When he caught this one misstatement he seized on it and, over the years, he just can't let it go. Guiowen; after seven years, can't you comer up with something better. I do know you've been here long enough to know all the facts, so you do know Crystal is innocent and is being falsely imprisoned but, like your cowardly Governor, you want to save face and pretend that justice was done.

Crystal mentions a plea deal here -- I thought Sid had denied such a plea deal existed...I believe both Woody Vann and Daniel Meier have denied that a plea deal was offered.

And yeah -- you don't "retire" from the military after serving less than 2 years -- you don't even qualify for ANY veteran's benefits.

In fact, I doubt (given the circumstances of her discharge) than it is even an honorable discharge.

Yeah, I believe I was aware that the holiday did not celebrate Mr. Fawkes.

As far as effigy burning, I believe that to be a negative act. Would the Man from Nazareth burn someone in effigy? I would not even burn Donald Trump in effigy.

Hey, Durham Man.

Don't know why that statement should cause you pause. By not listening to the entirety of the podcast you missed the discussion of Mangum's case by the two criminologists. Clearly you want to take the path of the ostrich by burying your head in the sand to avoid being confronted by the truths of her innocence and the positive/supportive views of independent and objective third parties.

Hey, Anony.

Yeah, Crystal was offered two plea deals. Unfortunately the prosecution did not commit them to writing. The one for time served with a ten-year probation was not only unsatisfactory because Mangum was innocent of any crime with which she would be forced to plead guilty, but anytime during a probation period the district attorney's office can readily concoct some sort of violation... which undoubtedly was their dastardly plan. Fortunately, and with my encouragement, she did not take the bait.

Hey, Anony.

I have never pulled a comment or posting from my blog site. There was one unfortunate incident in which I somehow lost a handful of posts and their comments.

Again, what do you have to say regarding the podcast? Why is it no one seems to want to talk about that?

Apologies for not responding to comments more expeditiously... but I've been extremely busy.

To catch you up on the status of legal cases:
Crystal has filed a Notice to Appeal with the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, VA and has yet to file her initial informal brief which is due by November 30th.

Crystal has filed with the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals for permission to file a second Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. She is awaiting a ruling to grant her to file the second Habeas petition.

My lawsuit against WRAL in U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of North Carolina has replied to the defendants' Response in opposition to the Court-hosted settlement conference being held prior to a ruling on summary judgment motions.

As you were.

November 14, 2020 at 5:39 AM

Hey, A Durham Man.

I don't understand your objection to the semantics regarding an issue of miniscule relevance... Crystal's leaving the armed forces. Hardly what I would call a hardcore lie on seminal issues.

Clearly your refusal to listen to the entire podcast represents your unwillingness to accept the truth of Crystal Mangum's innocence. You couldn't bear to hear two criminologists discussing their opinions about Mangum's prosecution and conviction in light of Dr. Wecht's report.

Hopefully you will be able to overcome your discomfort on Mangum's statement regarding her leaving the Navy, listen to the entire podcast, and then present your comments.

Hey, Anony.

You believe that people who are innocent of the commission of a crime should be executed? If so you are not alone... you are in the company of Governor Roy Cooper, Attorney General Josh Stein, Durham District Attorney Satana Deberry, Secretary of DHHS Dr. Mandy Cohen, and others who are holding Mangum in prison, who they know to be innocent, with the intent to have her executed by lethal infection. (I just spoke to my fiancee hours ago and she told me there is an outbreak in Anson Correctional Institution... six inmates having been transferred to a hospital and many others under quarantine).

Thanks for your concern, which is not unfounded in this day of COVID-19 which threatens us all. I am doing fine physically. I have not been responding to comments because of a lack of comments, and efforts made to free Crystal by Christmas. This includes meeting with individuals, writing letters, and working on a new shar-video which I hope to have completed within a week.

Hah. Lebron James, I believe... or possibly Michael Jordan -- is involved with a documentary by that title. Crystal's book is titled "Last Dance for Grace."

There are no Court hearings scheduled, there is zero chance Crystal will be released by Christmas. Why do you continue to lie and pretend things can happen that can't? Unless Cooper commutes her sentence, she will not be released without a Court hearing, which has to be scheduled in advance so the other side can respond.

No court hearings set = no release before Christmas.
